About RLS Day

Robert Louis Stevenson Day (#RLSDay) is an annual date on Edinburgh’s literary calendar when the life, loves and works of one of the most famous writers born in our City of Literature gets marked with a moustache-twirling and velvet-clad week full of events, in town and online, leading up to Stevenson’s birthday on the 13th November. It’s a great big literary party – and you’re all invited.

RLS Day takes place every year on 13 November, Stevenson’s birthday. The programme of events is published each autumn by Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature. Programmes from previous years are listed in the RLS Day menu above.
